New homes continue to pop up east of I-75 in recently subdivided lands such as Laurel lakes and Otter Creek. Large newer homes are available at prices much lower than west of the trail and Siesta. You can get a lot of home for the money by just moving a litle inland. newer homes, especially those built since 2002 are much less expensive to insure, and have superior energy features.
